Killington 2019

Be still and know that I am God.

If we quiet our minds and listen, He is always speaking. It was such a rad weekend with an amazing group of people. The group was well connected, I loved the girls I roomed with in the sugar shack, and even though we had a few delays with warmer tempts and the wind knocking the power out, it still lead to a good time on the slopes. I honestly really prayed for this trip. Since I was really sick last year, and some girl drama, I really wanted this trip to be unique and well processed. God out did it. I know being an introvert is hard in larger groups, it can be harder to be yourself, but I still enjoyed being around everyone and being involved.

I didn't get to go into town this time, but we did end up going to a Maple syrup farm and learned how they make it in Vermont, as well as cheese. It was really cold, but interesting. Then spent some time hanging out at the lodge. I was a bit disappointed in myself for not going on more runs. I know I was tired, and it's been awhile since I have gone, but sometimes when things don't go as planned it can wear you out. It was beautiful once the rain cleared out.

The theme for the weekend was hearing the voice of God. It was a deep subject for many. I could see that it really sparked an interest in really investigating on how you hear Him. It is different for everyone. I didn't really start to hear the voice of God until a few years ago. And a lot of times it comes with personal and spiritual maturity. I hear Him with words, songs, or a gentle whisper. He doesn't just enfold our hearts, He explores them. He doesn't just know our deeds, He understands our depths. He is honestly always speaking. Tiredness and busyness will get in the way of resting in Him. I know I have been consumed by it and need to be more obedient with that. Step out in faith and say what is on your heart.

As I was walking back to the cabin, I looked up and could see all the stars. I was overcome by emotion, and I have not seen anything so clear before in my life. I stared into the darkness and could see don't you love the clarity that winter brings. God said this is your clarity. Even in the silence, God is with us. Breakthrough is happening. He is moving, He is working. God's timing is always perfect. It's to keep trusting in Him and allowing for Him to move when He knows you are ready.

I encourage you to keep surrendering to Him and to keep listening. He places desires on our hearts for a reason. I also pray for the new relationships and that God will continue to grow and open doors to get to know one another more, and to reflect on what He was speaking to you about. God is so good!!

"I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for He speaks peace to His faithful people."
-Ps. 85:8
