Spirit of Rest
Overwhelming peace.
God has given me an overwhelming peace. I know that in the beginning of the year God gave me the word grace. A spirit of rest, grace upon grace of all the hard times and just for myself. What it means to truly rest in Him. I'm burned out all the time from my job and just the craziness of life, but also learning to truly rest in Him. How to have a life when you have other obligations. It's been a real challenge for me. Pressure makes diamonds right.
Learning to rest in Him also mean learning to rest in His promises. We become so fixated on our desires and what we want that we miss the growth in the process. So when does it become something from God and not out of desperation.. we ask Him. We check our hearts and motives. It doesn't mean your not intentional about it, but it's realizing that God knows the desires of our hearts and prayers, and the focus needs to be more on ourselves and not those desires. Like the prayers you've been asking God about for a long time, it may sound like well yeah, but what about me ...
We need to learn to use our time to grow and to heal and to focus on God and other areas of our life too. Not just an end goal. God will make a way in the mean time. We need to learn to ask for discernment and actively pursue! It means stepping out in faith. Nothing grows out of comfort zones. It's so important to learn to take initiative in your life.
God is faithful. We are sometimes so in pursuit of what He has yet to bless us with. Because we are either not ready for the blessing quiet yet. I have learned how important that really is. What I thought I wanted at the time, I would have been settling, or I would be struggling to get through something I wasn't prepared for. Remember that God is the master at orchestrating everything out. We shouldn't feel the need to put ourselves in places in hopes of, but rather God put us there for a purpose. Trust in Him. Rest in Him.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
